"Veolia is developing an ecosystem of solutions to address the 3 key challenges: decarbonization, economy and regeneration of resources, depollution".
Innovation is helping Veolia Group stand firm on its path to environmental transformation. And the direct benefits can literally be measured in numbers:
- 6 TWh of biogas is produced annually at the wastewater treatment plants and landfills operated by the company. This is green energy that powers local grids.
- 320 million m3 less water used compared to 2019, or as much as Singapore's annual consumption.
- 14 million tonnes of CO2 emissions and 320 million m3 of water saved in 2022 alone from innovative optimizations.
- Thousands of tonnes of precious metals such as lithium, cobalt, copper, manganese and nickel are recycled at the company's 4 e-Vehicle battery processing plants. By 2035, they will process 7 million batteries.
- 15-20% lower energy consumption for Veolia's business customers - airports, hospitals, universities, industrial facilities - is the benefit of the company's digital innovations and monitoring systems.
